This week was good for being outside. It started with last Sunday's hike, which although I hadn't planned on it, ended up being a short hike in the snow. I'm still getting use to the temp difference when traveling from Boulder just a short distance into higher elevation. Sunday was partly spent in the cold and snow, and partly in moderate and sunny warm fall.
And a full week of the golden colors of the changing season. I predict that by next week, most of the leaves will have fallen, blanketing the ground in rich ochre. My friends here tell me to expect our first real snowfall right around Halloween. That's just fine with me. But in the meantime, I plan to spend as much time as I can outside feasting on the colors and textures that are signature fall.
This tree lives outside my bedroom window.
I'm a lucky girl.
Here's to a weekend full of fall colors, crisp mornings that turn into warm sunny days and preparations for the coming winter. Enjoy!
