Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)

Last Friday I attended a Day of the Dead celebration hosted by one of my new Boulder friends, Mia, who owns the super wonderful Two Hands Paperie.  I was thrilled to go and meet more of Boulder's beautiful women, and to experience my very first Day of the Dead party.  Mia has a friend, Jessica, who just happens to be a rocking artist and face painter.   Below is some of the fun we had!

My offering.  A picture of my sweet Rose, a few words and some chocolate!

I tried to capture my own transformation taking self-portraits with my iPhone.

Don't know why I'm looking like I'm not having fun, cause I was having FUN!  Layer three, the eyes.

After all 12 of us had our faces painted, we headed down Pearl street for dinner.  We made quite the impression.  So so much fun.  If you ever get the chance to attend a Day of the Dead celebration, or hold one yourself, do it!
